Walter Carvalho - cinematographer, photographer, director, screen writer, producer - was b...展开orn in 1947 in the city of Joao Pessoa, but moved to Rio de Janeiro in 1968 to study graphic design. The start of his rich career is essentially related to his older brother-director, screen writer, producer, editor and actor – Vladimir Carvalho (1931) who introduces him to the film art as cameraman in film "O Pais de Sao Sarue" (1971).
In his rich career as a cinematographer, Walter Carvalho has shot over 60 feature films, and directed 4 that have also brought him numerous festival awards. These are films "Moacir, Brutal Art" (2005), "Cazuza - O Tempo Nao Para" (2004), "Lunario Perpetuo" (2003), and "Janela da Alma" (2001).
For his entire scope of over 60 completed films as cinematographer and director, Carvalho has won over 40 awards at festivals in Brazil, Latin America and worldwide.
