To understand what this “Film Porno” is or isn’t – it isn’t cinema, and certainly not pornography – one would have to go back to those revolutionary years when the act of writing, painting, or filming couldn’t be separ...展开ated from the process of life, creation, and liberation; to go back to an era when the two stars of this super-8 film (as short as it was silent), Pierre Clémenti and Caroline de Bendern, weren’t yet the icons of an unfolding cultural revolution but simply the two illegitimate children of Marx and Coca-Cola. This film doesn’t have any real status; it isn’t listed in the official corpus of Oliver Mosset’s pictorial works, doesn’t appear in the (now historicized) filmography of the Zanzibar group (created one night in May 1968), but can be more surely related to Mosset’s photographical oeuvre, a process of random production emancipated from the subject and from representation. “Film Porno” is only a sequence taken from history, an abstract moment dealing with reality, with chance, with the part of desire that remains off-camera – and sticking to its one dimension, that of a film. A film is a film. —http://www.bureaudesvideos.com
