In telling the story of Pedro Manrique Figueroa, the pioneer of collage in Colombia, Ospina proposes nothing less than the re-telling and re-imagining of a crucial period of Colombian history, from...展开the civil war that began in 1948 to the guerrilla fighting and new drug culture of the 1970s. Un tigre de papel is a collage itself, where art and politics, truth and lies, documentary and fiction intermingle.
Luis Ospina was born in Cali, Colombia in 1949. He completed his studies in film at the University of Southern California and at the University of California – Los Angeles. He directed his first feature film, Pura sangre, in 1982 and Soplo de vida in 1999, and has directed over thirty short films and documentaries. His films have won awards at the international film festivals of Oberhausen, Toulouse, Bilbao, Cadiz, Sitges, Huesca, Havana, Cartagena, and Bogota.
