The film’s theme is a ...展开continuation of he concerns of the Mzhalalafilm period: a secret experiment bringing together an idyllic and brutal band of brothers; a displaced,unclear goal; heroic idiocy. In Knights of Heaven,however, a radical change in cinematic velocity took place. Instead of the quick-cut montage of the earlier films, we find an unhurried delectation of detail; instead of feverish and frenzied activity,a retarded narrative style.
