Le Surconsommation is a six-minute snippet of Samsara, a 2011 documentary directed by Ron Fricke and produced by Mark Magidson. The film took over four years to produce and was shot with three 70mm cameras (chosen for ...展开their superior quality) across 25 countries and five continents. While Samsara (the repeating cycle of birth, life, death and rebirth) as a whole covers a variety of themes and has with no over-riding political view, these particular six minutes document extreme levels of food processing, with chickens, pigs, and cows kept in increasingly distressing and cramped environments to keep up with consumer demand.
