This Herz Frank's documentary is influenced by his work in the evening papers. Many of his journalistic reports became material for his future films. "Restricted Area" is one of those movies. As a newspaper corresponde...展开nt, Frank went to the courts, followed the criminal chronicle - as a lawyer he was especially interested in it. In 1963 he made a photo essay in Cesis colony for juvenile delinquents and published it in the newspaper. Restricted Area was shot on the same spot eleven years later
