Lisandro Alonso was born in Buenos Aires in 1975 and studied at the Universidad del Cine (FUC). In 1995 he co-directed his first short film Dos en la Vereda ,with Catriel Vildosola. Afterworking as assistant sound engi...展开neer on many short films and a few features, and as assistant director to Nicolas Sarquis on his film Sobre la Tierra, he returned to directing, making his first feature. In 2003 he founded 4L, a production company based in Buenos Aires.
Début by Lisandro Alonso is about the length of one take from his features. Together with Catriel Vildosola, the most important sound man of the New Argentine Cinema, Lisandro Alonso made this short film at the age of 20 while studying at the film academy. He also worked as a sound man and later as an assistant to other Argentine productions before making his debut with Freedom (2001), which won a FIPRESCI Award in Rotterdam. Vildosola was also responsible for the sound of Liverpool, the most recent feature by Alonso.
