The story is set in a s...展开mall, poverty-stricken village in Kerala. On the day of the sacred festival, as is the ritual, Nathan, the holy elephant, chooses Shabri, a worthless drunk, as its new keeper, for the chosen one it’s a matter of fortune and honour. With his new found resolve and the allure of the elephant he not only faces adversities with strength but also defeats the evil power of the envious village tantric and the conniving timber merchant from the neighbouring village, who want to steal the elephant.
