Very rare French short from Canadian-born director Étienne O'Leary. This was produced in the same French underground community as Pierre Clementi, Jean-Pierre Bouyxou, Michel Auder and the Zanibar Group filmmakers. ...展开The black and white 16mm short is a montage of clips and sounds that is very bouncy and fun. There's lots of 60s French hipsters, strange devices, dancing and a very disjointed soundtrack that alternates between pop music (like The Beatles and Screaming Lord Sutch) and harsh noise/tape manipulation which O'Leary composed himself. It reminds me of the films of Gunvor Nelson, Jonas Mekas or even Frans Zwartjes. Honestly not the best transfer and little to no restoration done on the image, but if you are interested in that scene of French underground cinema, definitely worth a look!
